FOR SALE: 1957 Lincoln Lil' Abe - 12' Canned Ham - $4500

This trailer has been in my wife's family for over 30 years. When her parents stopped using it, we bought it, cleaned it up (minor renovations), and have had it for nearly 10 years now. But now we're not really using it ourselves either and don't have the ability to finish restoring it like we'd like to.

It's an aluminum sided "canned ham" style trailer. I don't know the exact tongue or towing weight, but it's light. You can disconnect it from the hitch and push it around. It's that light. Definitely under 2000lbs. I tow it with a 2000 Nissan Xterra, 6 cylinder.

It sleeps around 3. It has a table that drops down into a double bed and a long bench/bed on the other end. There's a closet, a counter top and an ice box (the dry ice style). The interior ceiling is about 6' tall in the center. Tail Lights work, no gas or electric inside.

It's definitely a perfect trailer for someone industrious who's looking for a project and has the space to work on it, but it's also in perfectly useable condition as it is. The frame is solid, with only light spots of surface rust (see the picture of the tongue). The electrical system for the brake lights and turn signals works. It even still has the original wood screen door that came with it 60 years ago. ("When 60 years old you reach, look as good you will not.")

I've looked and looked for other examples of this trailer to help figure out the amount we should ask for it but I've only been able to verify 2 others that are still in existence (1 restored, 1 not, neither for sale).

Since it's apparently fairly rare and in useable condition as-is, we're asking $4500.

It's located in Las Vegas, NV (and has been for the last 30+ years).

Hi Janet,

No, the VIN is 10 digits. Why?
