Camping in Beckley,WV

 Last summer when we took our Class C out for a shake down run we traveled to Beckley, WV.

We stayed for 8 days at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine Campground.  This is an easy hop of the interstate (WV turnpike) I 77. The camp was clean and offered full hook ups. The restrooms, although simple and a little dated were very clean and well stocked. Not to mention that every afternoon an attendant was on duty to answer questions as well as keep the place tidy. The Park is partially wooded however if you are using a satellite dish you may want to reserve a site on the edge of the camp near the overlook that faces to Store and office. 

The kids and adults will find the mine tour informative and interesting and is well narrated by actual retired coal miners. They will show how mining was done 100 years ago. The mine was once an actual working coal mine that used mules to haul the coal out.

Give it a try if your in the area I don't think you will be disappointed.
