Rear hydraulic stabilizer?

My 74 Executive has what appears to be a hydraulic stabilizer on the rear. This is composed of two pistons linked by hydraulic lines with no pump or obvious valving. The bushings and lower rod connectors are bad and I wonder if anybody can give me some info on this type of system. I'm new to RVing and trying to bring the handling back up to snuff. Found the system while checking shocks (buy Monroe or Bilstein?) and want to fix it b4 shock purchase. Thanks for any help.

Iam looking for tailights for our 1982 Travelmate motorhome. They have 3 lenses and are surface mount. They were very common in the 70 and 80 not made anymore. Looking to purchase a pair.
