Stripping paint.
I made a big mistake on repainting my Deville, and I am stripping paint now. There is lots of debate on what stripper to use, and I WON'T get into that, use what you want to use. BUT, I think I have found a GREAT paint scrapper. I wasn't happy with anything commercial. It either didn't scrape the paint, or it hurt the aluminum. Then I remembered how I had cut my hand on a broken piece of Formica! It is just about PERFECT. Don't cut it, but bend it till it snaps! You will get a VERY sharp edge that isn't effected by stripper, and WON'T hurt the aluminum. Press too hard and it will snap, but so what, make a new one.

I hope you find it as good as I did. You can't hold it tight in a vice to snap it, but if it is loose in the vice it helps to create a "straighter" edge. Experiment, what the heck, a scrap of formica is cheap.
