This NEW and Improved Corn,methanol Gasoline is the pits.

We all have enough to do without adding to our to do lists as it is.

I go out to do my once a month maintenance run of my Genset and Quad.

Whirrrrrr,Whirrrrrrrrr,Whirrrrrrrrr.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !

(about this time, Im cussing like a sailor,, and I do believe I have covered just about every word there is and made up a dozen more ). I get out the tools and tear the carbs out, spend 2 hours under the awning in 106 degree heat, feeling like a chocolate chip cookie on a cookie sheet, baking in an oven, taking them apart to clean out the *varsol * goop crud. Then reassemble, and get them reinstalled and finally,,soaked in sweat,, being so hot, my sweat was sweating,,, I get them both running again.  Its getting very aggrivationg that this NEW and improved crud gas maybe lasts a month before going bad or messing everything up.

BTW, Stabil, makes it worse. Im contimplating just draining the tanks and leave them dry, and maybe a spritz of trans fluid to reduce the rust factor. Almost tempted to look into a Diesel genset..

An RV mechanic I go to said to use the Lucas stuff, not the treatment, but their has stabilizer. Says it. Is the best on the market. I have it in the MMP and so far so good.

Lakota don't you have alcohol free gas in your area?

This is what I use in my MH. 

My Rv is dual fuel.

When I sold my boat and bought an RV my primary requirement was either dual fuel or easily (tank wise) adaptable to dual fuel.

When I had my company 6 of 8 service trucks were dual.

With the Winnebago, I run propane for approx. 95% of all travel. I do also keep the gas tank full and every 3000 - 4000 miles run on gas. Keeps the tank reasonably clean and the fuel feed as well.

I do, always, add a QUALITY fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Given today's additives to gasoline it does not take a lot of time for your tank, filters, lines, pump/s, float bowl, injectors etc to foul.

Then consider your generator. Same situation.

A QUALITY fuel stabilizer is very very cheap insurance.

I would encourage any of you to go to the AMA website and learn more about our EPA's insistence on Corn in our gas tanks. They are wanting to go from 10 percent to 15 percent methanol and allow dispensing through multi blend pumps. Methanol in that quantity will be detrimental to almost every small motored equipment sold in this country.. That's your lawn mower, boat motor, Motorcycle's, gen sets and more. All so big Agg can sell more corn. I wonder  who's palms at the EPA are getting greased. Is it really for clean air? The methanol fuel is a joke, it deteriorates faster you have to burn more for the same miles and it ruins small motors and any other motor that is not built to handle it. Vintage RV's, classic cars and on and on. You shouldn't have to buy additives for your gas so you can operate your machinery safely. there are a few more places like SEMA and other organizations trying to stop E15 as well.

You hit the nail right on the head Rich. I have been telling people since oxygenated fuel first came out here in Washington State In the late 80's not to buy the cheap Arco or Safeway gas. My auto repair shop floor was painted with a good cement paint and the gasoline that had alcohol in them would peel the paint. All small engine owners should not run alcohol in their gas. 1996 and newer cars have a system built to handle the 10% alcohol gas. The computer system is designed to keep the air/fuel ratio at 14.7 to 1. With 10% alcohol in the gas you will most often get 10% less mileage and 10% less power. It take twice as much alcohol to produce the same effect as 100 octane gas. I run the no alcohol gas at 92 or higher in my MH and I get much better performance and mileage.
