What kind of invertor and compressor do you have VK? How do you have it set up?
on Monday
I always have one of the rechargeable portable batteries on a trip. It works well as a back up to the house battery. Of course, I have vintage trailers, not huge motorhomes, but they are handy and usually have a light and sometimes a little compre...

Yeah, I was thinking of that. I have a battery pack I need to get working again. It uses two motorcycle sized deep cell batteries and can be charged as you drive, or from the solar panel I have, or from shore power. I really like the idea of a hea...

I will Pat! I'm staying with a friend right now - and have electrical, shower and kitchen, but when I get back on the road again, this is a great alternative. When I was in Denver I used to boondock outside a 24/7 health club there. The parking lo...

Oh, if you're looking for a hose heater....try: http://cozywinters.com/shop/kh-5080-5090.html Best for those with shore power, but if you hate trying to uncoil a frozen hose anywhere, not a bad thing to have!

I used iron strapping. I went to a welding place, explained the problem and the guy had me take a picture of the battery, then told me what to measure. Then he created/designed, bent, drilled and welded a sort of strap for me. I used a heavy duty ...

Tell US A Little About Yourself!
I'm a freelance ghostwriter, designer and photographer. I write ebooks about just about anything for anyone who wants to write and sell a book but doesn't have the time, resources or expertise. I'm a former journalist/photojournalist (22 years). I love defending the underdog and going after bad corporations - former investigative journalist!

I recently gave up my apartment and became a full-timer again. I'm alternating between full-timing and couch surfing with a friend who has recently had back surgery and needs a care giver for a few months.

I love to fish, love to camp and while a bad knee keeps me from backpacking, I still enjoy day hikes and biking. I have a rottweiler - almost ten years old now she mostly sleeps and eats (they only live to be about 10 or 12. So - that makes it hard to find a campground since most don't take certain breeds.

I write and produce ebooks. See my website at: http://beckyblanton.com.

Medical Care and Hospital Warnings

In all the years I've camped I've never had any problems with hospitals allowing me to park and spend the night while visiting family or friends who were sick, and that I had to travel out of town to see. When I need a place to park while traveling through strange cities I often look for a hospital or Wal-Mart because I know they're open 24/7, I can find food, wifi and a security guard if needed and because most welcome travelers. Hospital cafeterias, if you didn't know it, have the best and che… Continue

Becky, the mural on my trailer is reminiscent of the wonderful artist Linda Carter Holman. Knew I wanted a mural (lots of dings to disguise) and had a print of hers hanging in my living room, so she was the inspiration. Would love to lie and say that I did the painting but I cannot! A local artist/sign painter took home the print and the trailer and, voila!

Becky, bet Virginia is very lovely this time of year. Sooo glad Koko has a freind to play with. Lady's friend, sugar from down the street, comes by every morning for a romp every morning... which usually entails playing chase with their toy over me while I'm waking up. They're a joy to see having so much fun! HAve a wonderful week! pat, linda & lady dog

Yes, Lady dog is very knowledgeable about wrenchs and such. She tells me what sizes to use and what to fix next.

Lady says "hi Koko"!

Becky, Lady dog want to know your dogs name and how VanDone is doing.
Lady also mentioned to me that she thought you should get a vintage Shasta trailer or the like and tow it behind you van. Lady thinks that this might give you the best of all worlds; a "base camp" in the trailer and the VanDone for mobility.

Here is Lady telling me how to take the engine apart... again!

Hey, Becky. Welcome to our rv camping community! See you've visited some real nice areas. We love rving and I particularly love fishing and we will be spending this summer fishing Colorado near Fort Collins in the Pudre river and Redfeather lakes area and then on to washington state for some late summer salmon fishing. We'll post a blog when we start our trip. A few fishing pics in blogs from our Arkansas trip (rained out mostly) and my friend catching a darn weird fish called a spoonbill paddlefish... kinda ugly. Not like the silver bullets off Virginia!
Anyway, we all look forward to seeing any photos and your posts and helping in any way we can.
Oh, I almost forgot. click on the Sisters on The Fly link under Vintage RV Links on the right hand side of the page and see their very neat fishing photos and their vintage campers from all over the US.
