So very sorry to see your accident! Hope that you guys are OK! I have wondered about the grooved pavement. I have trouble with it without even pulling a trailer. My Jeep Grand Cherokee likes to follow the groves and it is hard to steer. I know the...

Thanks for the information. The size of tire that I need is a 13 inch , 4 bolt rim. What about the tires that are sold in Wal-Mart? They say they are trailer tires and are mounted on the white rims. I wondered if they really are of good enough qua...

A option to trailer tires could also be a pick-up truck tire with four ply sidewall rating. They would offer you a larger variety to choose from.

Sounds like a great idea. My only concern is, check with the rules of the campground first. I was in a state park in Wyoming that specified, NO dumping of water, grey or otherwise, that had ANY additive, (soaps, cleaners, etc.). They will fine you...

Thanks for information. I live about 30 miles south of Ft. Collins, so good to hear what works localy. Didn't think of making my own tire covers. (the ones at rv shops are alittle pricey for what they are.) I have a huge piece of canvas that was u...

We've had good luck storing our trailer in Fort Collins, Colorado's dry climate by just rolling our bumper pull tires over 1x4 cedar boards and adding the wheel covers Linda made out of some old scrap canvas I got out of a dumpster (price was righ...

After putting new tires on a camper trailer, what is the best way to store the trailer to preserve the life of the tires? I have heard that they last longer if not in direct contact with the ground. The location that I store in has a decomposed gr...

Elizabeth On such a small trailer it probably would not matter, but why not use a light trailer tire. You must remember a trailer does sway back and forth more than a car which is why you are hearing about the sidewall. Also when you get ready to se...

I am looking for opinions about replacement tires for my trailer. Specificly trailer tires vs. regular vehicle tires. I keep getting told to NOT use car tires due to sidewall strength. My trailer is a 13 footer and will weight in, loaded, far less...

Did you find a siding source? I just noticed you posted this several months ago. Check out www.themetalcompany.com It is in Arvada Colorado 80002 5509 Harlan Street. Phone 303-423-4425 or 1-800-231-0401 I have not dealt with them, but located thei...

Thanks for your response. The top of the trailer is whatever the original finish was. (From 1958) I probably could just use a rubbing compound and clean it up some. If it is the shiny, or dull, aluminum under there, do you think I could just wax i...

VK, I am new to the group and also was wanting to put something on the top of my camper trailer. It doesn't leak, has not roof vents or seams. I am interested in mostly a cosmetic solution. It is a 1958 Aristocrat LoLiner and a lot of people, tall...

Got up to roof level at the weekend and found one of the top market lights was loose ( screws had broken ) and it was sitting proud of the bodywork, not a good idea when there's an inch diameter hole underneath for the wires!!! Took light right of...

If I were there I could find your leak. But at first look I would automatically suspect that your front window was put in with the factory sealing tape. (its garbage) There is a black butel tape that is commonly used in cars when the winshield is ...

I would pull the window and install new putty tape under the flange. That will also give you a chance to inspect the framing around the window. Also, the edge trim and roof cap seam are very bad for leaking. If you can take the edge trim loose and...

Hey thanks Pat, so far I am loving it. I drove it about 300 miles home and it drove like a charm. Mileage was even ok for a box on wheels. I'll post more and better pics later.

Ah....that's where one of my big leaks was - near the window. That area flexes A LOT. I had a 73 El Dorado - and loved it. Wish I still had it. Yep. Dry it totally out - under cover/roof if possible. There's some wonderful wood treatment I used (s...

If it is "New" in the sense it is TOTALLY new, take it back to the dealer. If it is just new to you, and not under warranty you'll be looking for a long time. If it's in your budget take it to an RV place and let them pressurize it/test it. That'l...
