Thanks, Kaye. We've been reluctant to try them for fear of the cost, but we have a lot invested in the RV (emotionally, anyway, at this point), so it would be a good idea to get things done right. Seems like they might be a good way to go for qual...

Hi, Sara. I have had excellent luck with Camping World in Fort Worth and there is one located on the Katy Freeway in Houston. They stand behind their work and the work they did for me was great!

I hadn't thought of CraigsList. That sounds like it may have some potential. Thanks for getting back to me on this!

Hello Sara, Pat Daly thought I might be of some help ... I have a handyman husband who does that kind of thing for my trailer. You might call a local RV repair shop and inquire there. Even CraigsList may be a solution. Post an inquiry there for an...

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to find an honest, affordable, knowledgeable electrician to handle the wiring of our 1970 Ungers Crown Commander? We're in Katy, Texas, and are having a hard time finding someone to work on an RV. And w...

Sara,
What a joy to hear from you ... and to see the photos of your new baby! What an awesome project! I have to admit I'd never heard of an Ungers Crown Commander, since my focus is mainly on vintage (pre-1970 model) travel trailers. Still, your motorhome is a real beauty and shows a great deal of promise. I hope you will continue to post photos and keep us all updated. Good luck and welcome to the group!

Welcome to good old rvs!

do you know Paige Bridges who does such great vintage travel trailer art? She's down the road from you at Wills Point, Texas. She also knows a ton of stuff about vintage restoration.

her web site is
http://www.vintagetraveltrailerart.com/

you might also enjoy the pictures of a group called Sistersonthefly.com their under our vintage links. the way they restore and "theme" their vintage trailers is really something.

anyway, welcome and we look forward to seeing your posts, pics and comments.

Great post. I think that this is information that a lot of RVer's and want-to-be fulltime RVer's want to know. Here is another post covering a similar topic that others might be interested in. Go to Retirement RVs dot com to take a look at What to...

It's actually a set for a play/theatre - like outdoor summer dinner theatre I believe. It's a pretty well known photo. Web urbanist has it and the location, and lots of other futuristic RVs which are really cool. Check them out here: WebUrbanist.com

Another tip for cleaning your blackwater tank is to add a bag or two of ice to the tank and then drive. The cubes won't hurt anything, but will knock stuff you want knocked loose, loose. The cubes will eventually melt and become water, so you won'...
