Very nice looking rig!
I don't know what's available in the UK. Here, several people have used "industrial" type paint from Ace Hardware. It is supposed to be the same as automotive or implement (tractor) paint, paintable with a brush or roller and…
Hi Todd, I can give you a few tips and a link...you have a good start, checking the frame, tongue and undercarriage. Does it have a title? If not, can you get one?
I try to stay under 16' and want all the appliances, parts and pieces in place. The…
Hi Nik, you might try cleaning the furnace ignitor and sensor. I'm guessing at the probable model of your furnace. It doesn't have a pilot, right? There are sensors that go bad, your board could be failing or the propane lines could have oil in them…
Hi Jeff, I sent you a friendship request and private message with my email address. It can be very difficult to reskin, this little Corvette was easier than some. The Hanson was a nightmare at times. VK
I always have one of the rechargeable portable batteries on a trip. It works well as a back up to the house battery. Of course, I have vintage trailers, not huge motorhomes, but they are handy and usually have a light and sometimes a little compress…
Fantastic actually supplies a foam gasket with their fans-I've use them a couple of times with Dicor over the screw heads and flange. It seems if the company gives you a gasket-it should work...otherwise, regular putty tape will be fine between the…
Yes, it looks great! How does it do on hard gravel? Also, will it handle an incline, like a driveway, and does the motor brake the trailer when off? Thanks, VK
I would pull the window and install new putty tape under the flange. That will also give you a chance to inspect the framing around the window. Also, the edge trim and roof cap seam are very bad for leaking. If you can take the edge trim loose and r…
I like to repair and restore vintage traveal trailers. Most are under 16 feet and single axel. Another fun pastime is helping fellow enthusiasts with repair problems online.

Hi, I'll see if I can get a picture of where it fits, the fridge I assume is original 1974, its the cover that holds the two batteries in, same sort of idea as the top of a torch I assume.

thanks VK,hope to have lilly in tip top shape soon
Quick question - we found some water damage in the back part of the trailer... along the sides. We read about eternabond and are wondering if, since the trailer is older, we should just go ahead and hit every single seam of the trailer to make sure nothing else goes wrong. Any input? Thanks!
Wow, Oh thank you. I know that I will be hollering at you for help and ideas. Mostly I need to replace a little wood. The ceiling I can handle, its the damage in the bedroom where it is curved that has me stumped. Anyway, I'll post photos later today. Thank you so much for sending me this note. K
VK, thanks so much. You can be sure I'll e-mail and stop by if you have the time. Love to see em. I'll probably spend a lot of time just looking at your great photos. I really enjoy restorations as most of us here on our little good old rvs site do; yours is particularly great since you take the time to document the restoration steps which is great! We can follow along even next winter when it's snowing or raining.
Yep, you can change bout anything of yours by just logging in and going to what you want to change, modify or add and click "Edit", then I usually click on the "Preview" at bottom ( I misspell a lot) and then click "Publish". Usually works and can't break anything... at least I haven't yet.
Looking forward to learning from you and seeing your "pets" late summer... meanwhile I'll follow along here and on your Shutterfly link.
Keep on savin em!

VK, Thanks so much for posting your wonderful pictures. You sure do some fine work bringing them back.
I really enjoyed looking at your Shutterfly link above and all the trailers and trailer restoration photos. I'll probably spend lots of time perusin em if that's ok with you. Great learning for me.
Other Good Old RVers you gotta check out VK's trailer restorations! You'll love em I think.
Thanks again Vk and I hope you keep postin here for us to see them come back thanks to your good works.

PS I'll try and stop by on my way from Tulsa to the Port Towsend Wooden boat show in September if it's allright. pat

I wanted to let everyone know that after CURRENT sold out of my "VINTAGE TRAVELS" Calendar for 2010, I CREATED A NEW ONE! It can be seen (and purchased) through ZAZZLE.com. Here is a quick link to find it: http://www.zazzle.com/vintage_travel_traile…
Becky, It is the Wave 3 and works great. I have the space to put a full 25lbs tank in the closet and it gives me about two weeks on low heat. We love to keep the camper going all winter for the spir of the moment camping. This thing makes it great f…
Thats too bad pat....does it really mean its been rebuilt all three times or does it show rebuilt when it changes hands and is sold or possibly just a way to register it to save money or hassel somehow...it might be an opportunity to haggle 'em down…
