Josh Rogan, Airstream Musician

I write for Airstream Life Magazine. I get to meet some amazing full-timers and write about them. Of course most of them live, work and play out of an Airstream, but sometimes I meet people who are new to Airstream, or that bring something so unique and fun to life that they could be written about anywhere.

Last weekend I got to meet Mike Michalowicz, a best-selling business author who accompanied me to an interview with a singer/songwriter/biker and stonemason named Josh…

RVer of the Year? Who will you choose?

My friend Marty Shenkman and his wife were recently selected as one of the top 5 finalists in the RVer of the year awards organized by Camping World. He joins four other very worthy finalists for the top honor. I'm posting to ask you to vote for Marty because he is doing something that affects ALL of us. He is a tax attorney whose wife Patti has MS. They bought an Airstream trailer and now travel around the country helping educate financial advisors about how to help their clients plan for… Continue

Flying J no longer offers free dumping

Just one more reason people need to really stop abusing dumping stations. RV'ers used to be able to dump their tanks for free at any Flying J Truck Stop. Due to the cost of cleaning out tanks and the misuse and abuse of the service they now charge for the privilege - $10 a pop. Please don't force other providers to follow suit. Read the rules, understand that ONLY human waste, not human trash of any kind goes into a dump station. Here's Flying… Continue

If you love art and Airstreams, check this out

This young lady is an artist who paints pictures of Airstream trailers. These are realistic paintings, not photos! She is amazing!! She is graduating from college next month and going out into the big wide world. She is working on a series of t-shirts, greeting cards and other items - so if you are a bit Airstream fan, bookmark her page for more news! She sells her stuff on ebay...and I'm not sure where else right now...but she has some beautiful work. See… Continue

Internet site for finding campgrounds and boondocking sites

There are a lot of RV and camping sites out there and it can be hard to find the one that suits your needs after you figure out the basics. Here's a site I discovered today. It came from a boondocking group I belong to. What I love about it is they give topographical map information. Some of you might like that - particularly if you like to four-wheel or snowmobile or hike etc. They also include a lot of great links to other, little known but very useful sites. All the information on the site… Continue

The Leisure Seeker, A new book about an RVing Couple

I love to read. And I do a lot of it - rarely reading a book more than once because there are so many new ones out there demanding my attention!! But I did get to preview "The Leisure Seeker," because I write for Airstream Magazine and the publicist thought the story took place in an Airstream. It doesn't. But she sent me the book anyway and I'm so glad she did. It's WONDERFUL!! It's also NOT for… Continue

Medical Care and Hospital Warnings

In all the years I've camped I've never had any problems with hospitals allowing me to park and spend the night while visiting family or friends who were sick, and that I had to travel out of town to see. When I need a place to park while traveling through strange cities I often look for a hospital or Wal-Mart because I know they're open 24/7, I can find food, wifi and a security guard if needed and because most welcome travelers. Hospital cafeterias, if you didn't know it, have the best and… Continue
