Since joining this Vintage Camper, I have been urged to start my own blog and fill folks in on what the heck I'm doing in sunny south Florida with my Honor Built 8' slide in camper.

Hello my name is David, I live in my Honor Built "Aztec" camper, which I found on Craigslist last summer 2014, in Chilecothe, OH, that had been stored for almost 40 years in a well built barn. When I answered the ad for the camper, $500 asking price, I fell in love with it at first sight. All the cushions were in excellent condition, red, with silver strands running through, and curtains to match, red and green stripe, with a white backing on them for light intrusion. The paneling is a blonde wood grain, with scallop cut for shelves and trim. I don't have a basement in the camper, but I do have a step up to the dinette, which conceals a 3.5 foot drawer underneath. I have a Dometic gas fridge, and a three burner stove with working oven. I have added a microwave, and a 24" flat screen HD, with built in DVD player, and a small 5,000 btu air conditioner on the back wall. Mounted on the tailgate of my 1987 Dodge D250 is a 3500 watt generator which is all the power I need for electric. Mounted in the access area of the truck is a HD Marine deep cycle 12 volt for internal lighting, TV, radio, computer, etc, etc. I am currently looking for a plastic-pvc water tank to replace my galvanized 12 gallon tank. But in a nut shell that is the extent of my home.

I live in South Florida, so winters are spent at home, and summers are spent in Ashtabula county, OH.

My friend runs a commercial towing company on Lake Erie, in the Geneva area, and I spend my summers maintaining and fixing boats, barns, out buildings, and relaxing and enjoying retirement, due to a disability.

So this is the starting point, I will try to continue my blog on a frequent basis, I have a pretty extensive knowledge of how campers and tow behinds were built, if anyone has a question, and I currently have two slide in campers, one of which was extensively rebuilt due to rot. I plan on being in attendance at the Jamboree this summer in Thompson, and I hope to meet alot of folks there, thanks for letting me share.
