Thanks John. I parked near the lights, but the heavy curtains in the Allegro do a good job of blocking it out. I rolled up, walked the dog, got some provisions in Wal*Mart, and hung out on the 'puter and listened to some tunes for a little while before going to bed. No generator, no "camping". Just roll up, sleep, and move on. It was a very cool experience. I went back there today and there's another, older (not as old as mine tho) motor home that looks like they're set up for the night. Lots more trucks compared to last time, too. Maybe it's the holiday weekend?

Jim, yep the big rigs can be noisy at night at Wally World but hey, you saved forty bucks. One of my dislikes is the bright lights, I try to park wayyyyyyyyy out around the outer perimeter where it may not be quite as bright and I always have the door towards the store which is more secure then having it open where its dark, more secluded and no security cameras. We usually buy gas and groceries there, don't leave trash, don't "camp" just park, sleep, and drive off in the AM.

  THANK YOU WAL MART

 Nice lookin rig you have

You have to be careful about people pulling up right next to you. I had the same, they knew the fuel filter was on the left side and disconnected it. Hooked up a pump, and drained the tank to empty. Then about a week later, same thing.  All in a matter of 4-5 minutes. I usually only fill my tank once a month.

Oh yeah - this Wal*Mart is about a mile off of Rt. 80 so it's a popular stop for trucks. There's a campground literally about 100 feet away, but why pay $40 for the night when you can sleep at WM for free?

It was pretty quiet after about 11:00. Lots more trucks showed up between 9 and 11. One guy pulled up about 3" from my rear bumper with his high beams on and let it idle a bit. He either had a chase car with him or a prostitute rolled up. There was some conversation that I couldn't hear and the car left. It was the dog's first trip (I'm dog sitting for my parents) in the RV. He's a rescue and I think he's done this before. He was totally at ease riding and sleeping in the RV. It was cool just to say I did it. I wanted to test the theory for longer journeys. The signs said "No Overnight Parking" but since there were trucks all over the place I figured I'd give it a whirl.

They out to put some of the RV/W-M- controversies on the internet. Very funny. They ought to use (WM)" the RV parking as a tax write off.

Had nothing to do. Tossed the dog into the Allegro and drove. Gonna camp at this Wal*Mart tonight. Hope it is a quiet night....
