Thought I would patronize the local dealership, But the parts guy was rude,,more interested in texting w/ his girlfriend then he was about looking up a very common universal part. Then after he huffs in discust having to stop texting his g/f,, he clicks away at the keyboard, asking year and make of my RV trailer, the length etc, and says , we dont carry parts for old *shit. Really? Calling my RV old shit,, just because its not a 200 bazzillion dollar super McMansion, its a piece of shit? I about reached over the counter to B-slap the snot nosed punk, But instead,, kept my calm and asked for the manager of the Facility. Finally a guy in a nice cheap sport coat he probably had just picked up at the Salvation Army store, walks over and asks what my issue was with the parts technician. I explained what I wanted, and he wanted to click away at the keyboard asking the same stupid questions, till I stopped him and said,,, see that roof vent right over there? The 14x14 vent with the electric fan? He says yes, I see it, why? DUhhhhhh,, Thats what I need and want,,, Can you bring yourself around to giving me a price? He says he needs to look it up on the computer for the correct application. Seriously dude,, its a universal sized vent, what part of that didnt they teach you in Rv sales and service class last week? He finally finds it on his computer and rattles off,,its $90 bucks and $225.00 installation fee. I said, I dont need it installed,, just need the vent unit..He then says, well sir,, they have to be professionally installed by a qualified RV technician.I explained I have been working on RV's even before his daddy was wearing diapers,, so I think I know what Im doing.
I said how much for the vent with tax,, I have to go,, I have things to do,, he said I have to wait for the girl who does the sales to return from lunch.
Guess what? This old cranky RV'er walked out and just went home and got on fleabay and found a better deal.. I can wait 3 days,, plus gives me time to cool down and NOT want to go back to the RV place and B-slap the parts guys.
