Shopping around on upholstery colors and a little work here and there

I'm going to be heading out to work on the cabover this morning for a bit.  Thunder in the distance, but  it looks like it's going to roll north of me.  Darn...need the rain here.

While I was having my cuppa's this morning I was looking around at upholstery fabrics.  I thought I might stick with color schemes that go with the striping on the RV, blues and teals.

Here's a color combo choice I am mulling over, the dark plain color would be for the main seat cushions and the lighter patterned would be for the pillow backs and such.  Let me know your thoughts if you like or no like.  :)  I'm not much of an interior design person, but I want something that's going to hold up well and be easy cleaning.....and cheap enough that I have spare fabric in case of a major tear or boo boo.

The patterned one has some other colors to it that I can compliment with other accessories too.

Alllllrighty then. The first major purchase is done. The fabric has been ordered and I chose the upper left patterned color.
I sure hope this works out. Now time to get the sewing machine set up and tear apart the old covers to use as patterns. Zippers are all in great shape, so that certainly helps. I might try some piping...dunno yet. But I will do some button covers. This will be fun.

Didn't see the new swatch - but I'm fondest of upper right as well.  I'd choose that if I only had myself to please.  It has a bit of that retro feel, too.  Top left might be safer and then accents to bring in your colors if you were concerned about committing to a floral.  The lower one is pretty but it definitely commits to a certain look.  Top right you could still pair with geometrics I think and get away with it :-)  Regardless they all look NICE - I think it's just a matter of which one you are in love with.  Yeah, I know - I always gravitate to the most expensive ones.  Those fabric designers/pricers - they know!

Dang, Holiday Inn Express will be upping their prices now because a celebrity RV'r has graced them with a stay.  LOL

I agree with both of you, but I do like the upper right pattern color better because it kind of goes with the outside striping on the RV.  It's a bit lighter, and not as blue...but at least it keeps the basic color scheme going from outside to inside. Also, I just happen to have some green curtains here that will probably fit in with that darker green in the pattern pretty good for the curtains to the cab over front. (Privacy Curtain).

And well....of course...the pattern in the upper right is more expensive.  Ha ha....

LOL, Rich, Holiday Inn Express, for the finer things in life. I happen to like the bottom one best for the accent. To me it has more eye appeal, but you are correct that the top right has more colors to accent off of.

I like the solid with the swath to the upper right. I think it contrast well with the lights and dark's of the solid swath. For the record I'm not an interior decorator but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.  Not really but I do like your choices.

So here are the fabric choices I'm deciding on. I've narrowed it down to one main color, and the patterned ones will be the highlight (trim) colors:

Then choose curtain fabrics and such later to compliment those colors. I'll use some of the chosen material above for tie backs or even small valances.

You got it Tina, I will definitely try to remember to tell you, but then even if I don't remember, you will see my post about going and can remind me LOL.

Russ, let me know when you go. I want to video that for youtube.  ROFL

Dawn, you can really get out of hand when choosing fabrics with those prices.  Seems everything I really like is far too much to justify putting in a camper this old.  LOL

I decided I'm going to do a multi pattern on each cushion, like the lady did at this site, but not in those colors:

It's going to take some extra measuring and sewing, but I figure it's a perfect stuck in the house winter project.

It was a heavier fabric in the drapery/upholstery section....not sure which it qualifies for but I'm thinking upholstery because of the section it was in.  $8.99 a yard.  Couldn't find anything on the sale table I liked...
