A younger couple brought in their B/P RV in for extended long term stay and curiously asked me how does one go about repairing bubbles on the front of their trailer. Quick reply was Ya Don't,, well technically you can, but NOT easily. They said the ceiling in the bedroom needs to be replaced and the front wall is shredding apart. The guy said he goobered up the main seam across the top front with SSSSSSilicone to at least stop the leak till he can figure out how to repair those bubbles.. In the back of my mind, I was thinking,, RUN Forest Runnnnnn,, dont look back,, avoid eye contact,, toss chocolate. Anywho,, this is a 2014 model trailer out of warranty.

When I was pondering purchasing the Palace I was thinking I could pull the Aluminum trim off and tape a line about three inches from the roof along the sides and back then have a quarter inch of Rino Linner sprayed on the roof front to back and three inches down the sides. Fortunately I did not have to do any thing that drastic. I was able to straighten out the bent trim from the tornado and the PO had already done a fine job of patching the small hole in the roof. I did re seal all the roof trim and seams and so far they are still holding out just fine. Plus I didn't have to rob a bank to pay for the liner. LOL

Okie Dokie,,, the storms passed and I checked with the owner of the famous delaminating bubbletop RV. The owner is almost a redneck bonifide genious,(lol). To stop the Waterfall into his bedroom (of course I bet it will become an option in the near future for those McMansions). The owner had a roll of commercial grade resturaunt saran wrap.. Now who wouldda Thunk it? He was on one side, his wife on the other and he tossed the roll over the top and pulled it tight,, was like celery wrapped for the fridge,, His water fall stopped, except for what was already in the roof.

Ok, now on to the new idea concept hes working on.. A dicor rubber membrane roof roll, pulled down over the front. He found a roll that will go from the back of his RV to the very front and over the nose down to the tongue. I joked and said,, maybe like a huge RV condom, for SAFE traveling..He got the idea from a bunch of us adding input and jogging our peanuts in the tin can heads of ours. He went further and went to local RV sales place here and was looking at new, used and even the ones in the row of shame,(those are the ones that have extensive damage, like huge water rot holes in the floors and leaking roofs and rippled bubble guppie sides,, which the salesman says are discounted and are EASY FIXES,, for the handy man. (You can laugh now at the easy fixes). He saw a used one that someone had actually rubber nosed and it looked pretty sharp, neat and tight,, He said the added plus was when he leaned down to look at the battery box on the tongue he bumped his head on the front and he said it felt baby soft,, no head injury what so ever.LOL. So,, he says, after our weather gets back to the normal heat wave where things melt if left outside for more then 3 minutes,, he will engage on his adventure of fixing his roof and nose cone bubble guppie nightmare....

Very well said Rich. Planned obsolescence is not what made this country great. Since outsourcing happened and all manufacturing were sent overseas, the quality of the majority of things has gone down the drain. A very sad state of affairs.

You know we can joke around about this stuff and maybe we should, because we as consumers have gotten so damn used to shoddy, crappy, purchases with planed obsolescent in the design of the things we buy. Why the heck do we let these manufacturers get buy with it. I'm not an old man, I'm a 61 year old and I can remember when you went to buy something, you looked for quality and manufactures built with pride. Now days we don't care, we buy lawn mowers that are different brands but all built in and by the same factory. We buy cars that all look alike because one manufacture builds a car people like then the next thing you know they all make them so close to looking alike you wonder why or how they get away with it. These RV's that start de-laminating the day they are pulled out of the factory should be a matter of investigation by the government. It's a real problem and people are getting ripped off.It is especially hard for the new owner that saved their money all their life for a retirement or the young people fresh out of school that want to travel get stuck with one of these things having spent a life savings or financed over a period of time that way out last the campers usefulness. It's no wonder people go postal in this life.

Russ is right, it would certainly show them what they're in for. I think people make the mistake of thinking that leak is only going to affect one little area. NOT!! That's such a shame, a 2014...only 3 years old and already falling apart at the seams. I would have cried....I think.

Oh you have got to show them the pictures that Tina and I have posted of what delamination/wood compost/gutting an RV looks like. This will either drive them straight to a new RV or prepare them for what lies ahead. SHOCK THERAPY!!!! it may help.
