Solar panels and battery banks

I currently have two die hard deep cycle rv/marine batteries each of which is 565 cca (how many amp hours is that?). I have two 270 watt industrial grade solar panels I will eventually mount to the top of the rv. I have a cheap charge controller that says to only hook up one panel to it. I Spent a week in Datil, NM with only one panel pointing south and up. With a 500w inverter I was able to run my omega 8008 juicer, laptop, and a few other low voltage charges on iPads, cameras, etc. and keep a… Continue

1967 Aristocrat remodel

Very slowly I am removing parts that had issues and replacing what I'm able. The biggest issue right now is the dry rot from the stove condensation leaking down the backsplash. Next are the windows after I replace the water lines with pex and put the port side back together. You can follow my progress on YouTube...…

That's pretty good Fred. I never thought about using one of those beds. They are heavy and the component's are heavy also. I have aluminum and carbonfiber planed. the roll out tray that the panels lay on, I'm going to use trays from a Bus RV . www.visoneautomart.com / www.visonerv.com , always has these type of parts. A Travco owner in Alberta has her solar panel on the roof of her's. She's Capri and her Travco site is www.myrtleandme.blogspot.com. She is on GORVs too.She has good info on solar conversions on antique rvs.

Those solar panels with inverters are really neat. I have something like that planned for my Travco.  I'm going to mount them underneath and have them slide out , un-fold & elivate (sun trackers) then retract back under the coach. Useing a CAD ( www.solidworks.com/ ) design program.
