I own a 1987 Foretravel Gran Villa RV. My mechanic says the two sway bar links are rusty and need to be replaced. He says I need two straight 15 inch sway bar links. Anyone have an idea where I might these parts? Thanks.

Hi Folk, just a comment in general about Prowler/Heartland trailer. I've found them to be good SOLID rigs. I own 2, a seventeen point nine trailer and a 23.9 trailer. Both are well built and solid and ho-hum, very heavy.

Out of curiosity one day when I had to get parts, I asked the salesman at my local RV lot to show me one of the new Heartland trailer and I was very pleased with it. They've maintained the solid built reputation of the earlier models, my 17.9 and 23.9 are…

Anyone find this with their older rigs as opposed to the newer models?
Help dropping fuel tank ( gasoline)tag:goodoldrvs.ning.com,2022-04-27:2093474:Topic:4283292022-04-27T21:51:09.381ZPaulhttps://goodoldrvs.ning.com/profile/Paul

I have a 72 Grumman motorhome. The fuel tank needs to be dropped because I am not getting fuel to the carb. There are two pickups on the top of the tank. One goes to the engine and the other to the generator.

there's also 2 sending wires on top.

The problem is that the fuel lines run on top of the chassis rails under the floor. When the tank is installed, these fitting are up against the underside of the RV.

I can drop the tank enough to maybe undo these. (See picture) The fuel lines are stopping me from just dropping it any more. There is no access panel above

Do I try to undo these and drop the tank, then when all back together try to reattach? Or cut the lines and drop the tank?

There is very, very little room to reach the gas line connections?
Happy New Year.tag:goodoldrvs.ning.com,2022-01-01:2093474:Topic:4274912022-01-01T14:52:33.389ZGrey Wolfhttps://goodoldrvs.ning.com/profile/GreyWolf

What is a good oil and oil filter to use with the 440 engine? Bringing mine out of storage I'll add conventional oil and run a few thousand miles and then switch to Synthetic (Amsoil). What would be a good conventional oil to flush with? Kevin

When I bought my coach it was evident something bad happened to the top of the ladder. Sheared right off at the uppermost support. So after two years I finally got around to doing something about it. And also used this as yet another excuse to procrastinate doing the transmission. Here's the before while swapping an AC unit.

So while in a salvage yard after something else I spotted a small ladder on the back door of a Dodge van and bought it for ten bucks. It had two 90 degree bends, one at each end. I found some 3/4" aluminum tubing in my junk box that fit inside the 1" tubing and I was off. Cut the smaller tubing to make joints. I never liked how the early ladders had loops that stood way high so I went for a lower profile. Pieced together and secured with aluminum 3/16" pop rivets. There was no sign of any previous attachment on the roof so I drilled into the the rear cap and used some "riv-nuts". Sealed up and ready to go. Very top and newly added step has a black strip that make sit not match. May have to pull that. I had to narrow it about a half inch. No biggie with a 1" hole saw and a hacksaw.

One less thing to bug me. Now, those two weird notches in the bumper....
