What makes a Revcon unique?
- Front-drive means no drive shaft to the rear axle, so the vehicle has a lower center of gravity.
As such, it handles exceptionally well.
- Custom box channel frame makes it much more rigid than C-channel designs used in most motorhomes.
- Lightweight aluminum monocoque body further improves handling and fuel economy.
- Aircraft aluminum used for exterior skin, frame and interior skin. Front and rear end caps are fiberglass.
- 2" high-density fiberglass insulation makes walls lighter than in most RVs, easy to clean, and nearly impervious to moisture. Other RVs have laminated layers of fiberglass, wood, and foam, so any water leaks will quickly rot the wood. Not Revcon.
- Underbelly is totally enclosed and stuffed with 6" of fiberglass insulation, which also reduces road noise.
The Revcon motor coach line was designed by someone affiliated with Airstream and was considered top of the line luxury coach for its time.

The window glass is intact but even after cleaning the track material, I was unable to get them all to open. I chose not to be too forceful and risk breaking glass. I ordered a couple of possible track replacement samples. They are in an envelope. That was as far as I got. Some windows do open partially, dining area is only place that opens fully, but is very stiff.

Driver side window opens fully, slides well but the handle is missing so it takes both inside and outside pressure to get it started.

Hello,

We recently purchased a 1976 Dodge Coachmen camper which I think is based on the B300 series Dodge chassis. The engine seems to run great and the transmission seems solid. I was wondering if anyone who has a similar camper might be able to tell me their top speed while driving on a straight highway? I'm not interested in breaking any speed records, I'm just trying to find the best speed for highway travel in order to be safe and cause minimal wear and tear on my camper. To be honest I like to drive slow - even in my car I often pull off to the side of the road to let a string of faster people go by.

My main problem is that it feels like I'm driving about 90mph in the camper when my actual speed is only 45mph. Is this normal? I think that I either have a bad rear wheel bearing or a drive shaft bearing that is going out. This noise seems to contribute to the speed sensation. I'm going to have this checked out next week. Maybe if the camper was quieter it wouldn't seem like it was going so fast? Any other taller vehicles that I've driven seem to be going slower than the actual speed, but not this one.

One thing that I've already discovered is that it's a lot less fun to pull over a full size camper on a busy highway. It also seems pretty unsafe to do so. Everyone seems very impatient and it's hard to find safe places to pull completely off of the highway.

I guess my three questions are:

1.) Normal (and safe) driving speed?

2.) Noise level while driving this era of camper?

3.) If you do drive slowly, how do you handle pulling off for the drivers behind you?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Regards,

I am in the midst with help from my hubby restoring and renovating my 1971 Shasta 1500 Camper. I am wondering if anyone has used this flexible molding when redoing their interior? The molding the previous owner used is the foam type "wooden" molding and they didn't do a very good job joining the cuts together, so I am thinking of using this one: http://flexiblemillwork.com/quarter-round.html in the 3/4…

If so, do you have any tips you can share when installing it? I am thinking I will use the 3M 5200 Adhesive and Sealant to do this job. It's a marine adhesive and sealer and since there was a leak in one of the corners in the back, I think this will do double duty to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Anyway, any pointers, tips or tricks you may have and would like to share would be appreciated! Thanks, love this ning. It has been a great help to me.

I am considering buying a 22 foot '57 Globestar camper. It is all original but the outside back lower compartment is rotted. The interior floor is new as is the plumbing but the exterior back side seams are open which I suppose let the water in. Is this wood replacement usually a costly repair? The rest of the camper looks sound and there are no stains on the ceiling. I would not be doing the work myself.
