Most manufactures are discontueing 16.5 tires, The metric size on a 16 in rim is LT225/75R16. Note if you are buying new or used rims test fit them first as the center hole size may be different depending on the year the rim was made. There are lots of used rims out there just have them check for center hole, bolt pattern and roundness no dents from curb hits etc. Another option is to move up to a larger rim size with a lower profile tire but cost would probably double of the 16'. The key is the rim and tire height must also be the same as the orignal 16.5 rim and tire height as not to change the gearing and speedo Dont forget your spare you cant mix 16 and 16.5 on duals or side to side of MH
Thanks for the info Rick. :)
Rick, good point on the spare tire being the same size as the duallys. Nice catch.
Thanks Pat
Just a note here, Several years ago I purchased some 16.5s on line from a reptible???? dealer had a hard time finding them locally,, anyhow got down the road a hunderd miles and blew one by the time I was able to get off the road it was totaly destroyed, put my spare one on and blew it within fifty miles, however I was able to get it off the road, this time I had to call road service, they came out and changed it for me, when he got done he told me I had better get new tires??? What new tires? what do you mean?? He said according to the date code these were twelve years old,,,,, so my advice anymore is check the date code even on newly purchased tires.......
