i am in the process of restoring a 1963 garway camper. i have been looking for countertop and table trim and also laminate for it. like most people i look on the internet. in my serch i found on two site's the cracke ice and boomerang pattern's. i emailed on of the site's for a price on them. i recieved an email from them the next day. now i am all for anyone trying to make a living.....that's the american dream, but there are some out there that want that and more. after reading the email and falling out of my chair i decided to write about it on the forum. the price for the cracked ice was 450.00 for a 4 by 10 sheet and the boomarang is 425.00 plus 85.00 shipping. upon reading that i said to myself that is out. well i happened to be in one of the big box store's today and asked what they could get. well to my surprise they can get the boomarang in charcoal only for 60.00 for a 4 by 8 sheet and no shipping. no you do the math. who is trying to lay you out. at any rate i just wanted to let people know you  can get it at your local store if you want charcoal. that is what i am going with and i plan on writting the other place and let them know that they are too high on their product as if they will care. if they did the price would be lower.

I am a firm believer that why buy something that you can make. Why not get a couple of 1/2 inch plywood then a piece of Masonite for the top glue it all together and use the old counter for a pattern. If your really handy why not do ceramic tile on the top and forget the Masonite. At least that way you could say you did it yourself. Good luck

nick, thanks for the reply and idea......and like you i do go with alot of my idea's as you probably do. i did find a piece of laminate at the store thru wilsonart that i like and look's retro, got a 4 by 8 sheet for 60.00. that will do my counter and table. i will post some picture's of the air conditioner i installed later. and thank's again for the idea. when you work on these vintage camper's you have to think and come up with idea's all the time.

The sink looks great Butch! The 95 Dodge cargo van I am customizing will have a small round stainless steel sink.Si I will probably use Masonite for that since I already have a sheet here.

Will look forward to the pix...Nick

thank's nick.....will post some more picture's as i come along with the rebuild.....butch
