We have a 1976 Explorer Class A motorhome. It's about 22 foot and has a full bedroom and bath with shower. Does anyone have any information on these old beasts? It offers a lot in a compact size. We have owned it for about ten years and are in the process of getting it roadworthy again.

Thanks!

Hello Mark, I don't have a model specific manual for your rig but wanted to mention that most if not all manufactures in that era used components from the same manufactures. If a full on manual isn't available for your rig try going to the manual link and look for item specific info. Also the chassis is most likely a cutaway van and  shares identical parts so you can find part numbers on sites like Rock Auto. I have a 78 Travelcraft on a G-30 Chevy Van for example and have no problems getting parts for that. For some of the interior  components I have found a lot of things are still available on line and at my local RV dealer. For electrical relays and such try Dinosaur Electronic, E-Bay is good as well. Hope this helps out some. I have seen a few Explorers in my day and they seem to be a good RV;good luck with the project.

Mark & Susie,

Here is some information about an Xplorer group. There are owners all over the US on this site. Maybe you'll have someone close by. I have a 1986 Class B Xplorer 228 and have found the members of this group to be very helpful. I believe most Xplorers were built on a Dodge chassis and there are many Dodge/Chrysler forums out there on the web.
