she is not ready
Hello all.
I own a 1981 Winnie Brave and the motor a 454 chevy has spun a rod bearing, anyone have suggestion or know of any manuals on engine removal, it appears it will come out the front

you can replace a rod bearing in frame.
Yep. You can definitely replace rod bearings from underneath. You may be able to replace the rod and cap as well. But why? The crank probably needs cut and metal shavings have certainly made their way around the oiling system. Yank it out and do it right.
All that said, I don't have an answer to the original question: how does the engine come out. Mine came out my driver's side door (also a 454). They're surprisingly small (but not light) with the heads off of them but I was able to squeeze mine in with the heads (and even the valve covers) installed.
We use our baby all the time I'm the third Owner My Parents bought it in 1984 and is part of the family.
I'm defiantly rebuilding her and the Tranny too since its going to be unbolted.. Don't have a drivers door and really don't want to disassemble the motor inside the coach if I don't have to.. just like to here from somebody that's taken one out thru the front
