Hi,

I  had a complete loss of good judgement, and bought one of these for cheap last month.  Still looking for the diamond in all the rough.  I am a total RV newby.  I've been been working on it night and day trying to get it into shape to take my kids to Yellowstone this summer.  The to-do list is long.  Right now, I'm getting ready to re-seal the seam between the fiberglass roof and the metal sides of the van body along a rain gutter that goes along the seam.  I've removed years of accumulated organic material (there were small plants growing in the gutters), scraped out all the old cracked sealant (looked like a mixed bag of elastomeric and silicone), scrubbed it, mineral spirits, and am ready to seal.  Anyone recommend a product for this?  Access to the seams behind the gutter is a bear.

Also, can anyone recommend how to restore the shine to the fiberglass?  I have an electric buffer....

Thanks, Michael

i would use  dicor  lap sealant caulk for that.  to restore the shine , the  best thing to do for these old fiberglass vehicles is to apply red max  floor finish that you can get  at  lowes, its the same thing as poli-glow that is sold for boats .  you just have to clean the  surface real well and remove all wax and apply 4 or 5 thin coats. it will shine  like new for  years.
