I know ants are something we just sort of live with. But there are "good" ants and bad ants. Bad ants are the carpenter ants munching away at my brother's trailer. I noticed an infestation of tiny black ants recently. They are much, much smaller than carpenter ants and do not have wings. I found a reference online that says they could be "small black ants" (aptly named, I suppose). I bombed the RV yesterday and an alarming, creepy number of ants have come out to die. Strangely, they like to go to the toilet lid by the dozens to expire. Also concentrated on the beds in the rear bedroom. Curiously, none in the kitchen.

Are the bombs effective or do I need to do something else?

I should also have mentioned that "small black ants" like to nest in decaying wood, but do not chew up good wood like carpenter ants do. I know I have a few spots that are decaying but they're not bad enough to repair. I just sealed the roof and let it dry out.

This the the stuff I like to use on ants:  "Combat Ant Killing Gel".  Apply a bit of it wherever you see the ants. It only works if the ants like it and will take it back to their nest, so I suppose there could be some varieties of ants that don't take the bait. I haven't found any yet that this doesn't get rid of within a few days.

Thanks Tom! I'll try that. I have some in the house, too....
