Anyone planning any vintage camp-outs or meetups?
Would love to have a rally of sorts. Summer is not that long, lets here some chatter about this.

Hi Barb - Don't know where in the Pacific NW you are, but here are a couple of rallies/gatherings coming up with the Facebook group I belong to:

Rollin’ Oldies Vintage Trailers on Facebook:

Don't know if you're on Facebook, but it's been a great way to hook up with other vintage trailer owners & find out about activities. We just went to the annual rally @ Sweet Home, Oregon where there were over 40 vintage trailers & it was a lot of fun. The one for next year is already in the works!

ROVT Central Oregon Campout/Rally

Vintage Trailer Gathering

Here's the info from Jerry, the FB group leader regarding next June's annual Oregon rally: "Friends,

Our 2010 Vintage Trailer Rally is now history and everyone is looking towards our 2011 rally at River Bend campgrounds. The dates of June 24-25-26th, 2011 have been reserved for ROVT's 5th annual rally! Our 2010 rally was a smashing success with the campground being filled to capacity and did we have fun. WOW!
At the writing of this update, we only have two electrical/Water sites left along with five dry sites. 90% of the participants at our rally this year signed up for 2011. We had a lot of "newbies" that had never attended a vintage trailer rally and were surprised how laid back and fun they could be and was. I will be starting a "wait" list for cancellations during the year for those of you that may still want to get a spot later down the road. 2010 was a very successful rally and we plan on 2011 being as good or better! More about the rally in your July email newletter coming out soon.. Happy camping!
Jerry"
See the website for River BEnd County Park in Sweet Home, Oregon (Linn County) to see photos & campsite maps. Included below, the info regarding the rally & the registration form:

WOW you guys and gals ROCK! We missed the Sweet Home (not far at all -- in fact probably saw a few folks on the way to Eugene)... I am hoping for the OR beach group! All depends on our BABY WATCH! We have grands expected--and grand cousins too (all in count, 8 at this moment) due by March...

Thank you so much!!!
Barb
Oh, great! Hope you can come - maybe those babies will respect your "vacation schedule!" Just go online & secure a spot at Beverly Beach then let Jerry know (jerryk20002000@yahoo.com) - if you wait 'til the last minute you may be outta luck! If you make a reservation & can't use it you could be out about $60, but maybe you could "sell" your spot to another ROVT member.

this rally has a vintage rv display: http://therally.com/events/rv-industry’s-100th-anniversary/vintage-rv-display/
2 adults dry camping – only $189.00
WOW SURELY YOU JEST! This is way to much money. Our dollar is tanking I know but still thats steep.
It best come with breakfast in bed and free gas.
Carey
I agree with you! I understand the desire to be near the "action," it sound like a lot of good events, seminars, etc., but you could camp close BY in a campground (with services, I suspect) for WAY less & drive over.
