Off for a short weekend trip in our 1993 class A. It occurred to me on the way out that in the last two years of intermittent trips, no one has waved at me. When I go out on my motorcycle my arm could get tired from waving. Jeep people seem to wave at each other. I kind of wondered why no RVer's waved at me. I figured it wasn't a thing. I have noticed that newer models seem to have tint such that you can't really see the occupants anyway though.
But on the return trip I spotted an oncoming class A of around the same vintage as mine and both the driver and passenger gave me big full arm waves. I nearly dislocated my arm to be sure to wave back before we passed each other. It was kind of neat.
So do people wave? Not so much? Or do I just need to get my coach out more. (OK, I know I need to do that.)

I have a Foretravel Gran Villa 1987 model. I also have a Toyota Winnebago 1989 model. When I drive either unit and encounter other RV drivers on the road, almost none of them wave back at me. Might be that they are lazy, might be they are new drivers, even the older drivers I encounter don't wave back. My guess is they don't look at driving an RV as belonging to a special club like we do. Maybe there are so many RV drivers out there, they don't consider it a unique experience. I remember when I was growing up, my father drove foreign sports cars. Any time he encountered other drivers of foreign sports cars the other drivers always waved back, it was like belonging to a unique club. Not so with RV drivers today. Maybe if we continue to wave at other RV drivers, eventually they might begin to wave back and pass on this effort to other RV drivers.
