I need to remove a lot of baked on pin stripping from my 89 Mallard Sprint. What is the best way to do this? Anyone have any experience to share on a fast way. Solvent or pinstripe eraser ?

Thanks, John and Barney the Beagle

I used 3m eraser wheel on my fiberglass motorhome. Worked very well but damaged the paint on my cab. The cab paint was shot anyway so it was no big deal.  have not used heat or chemical removers.

Thanks for your reply, I'm going to try the eraser.

Any idea of how long an eraser last for ?

There is a lot of pin striping that has to come off. This is a steel cab and aluminum body.

I have a 23 ft motorhome and went through 2 wheels. I had 3 4inch stripes that went all the way around and a bunch of 1/2 and 1/4 inch stripes ..check out my album

Thanks Barbara, very much appreciated !!!!!

Where are you from ?

Single?

Do you like Beagles ?

Can't blame a guy for trying! LOL !!!!

Would love to see interior pictures of your new motor home...been doing work on my interior most of the spring...(see album again!) I am near White Plains, NY at this time taking care of my mom...from Poughkeepsie though....getting ready to go traveling!!

Are you sure it is paint and not decals? If decals use a heat gun to warm it up and them pull it off. Then to get the glue residue off, look for a citrus based adhesive remover (forgot the name of it) associated with sign supplies. Should be able to find it online. This will be your easiest way to do it. I have 35 years in the sign business and have worked on hundreds of vehicles.
