Here I am, first time antique/vintage camper owner. This one has been a family member since way back. If I understand the story correctly it was purchased new in 1954 by my wife’s grandmother and grandfather. The title was lost but was remade by the MVD. They kind of put what was close in their minds to what it really is. If I can get some help identifying it. After hours and hours of research I found it is extremely close if not a clone to the 50’s era Shasta. On the title it says ‘54 highway cruiser. That may be close because on the curb side you can see “cruiser 17”. However when I look it up on google I find just about nothing. I found 1 picture that was close it was shorter than what I have and had less windows. But can’t find the identical anywhere. I haven’t personally located and looked at the vin yet as I have no idea where to look on this ol girl. Please any help out info would be greatly appreciated!

I plan on restoring and using it for road trips that we plan on taking. All of it seems to be here and I will upload lots of pictures of my adventures to come with this project. I’m pretty excited!

I have uploaded pictures, if more or specific will help let me know

One of the great mysteries of the road trip!  Uncovering and solving many of the past owners' choices is pretty hard, so it's good you at least had some family memories to help track things down. Still, old campers were never looked upon as some sort of thing you kept really good records on. Hard enough with the old homestead! Best of luck to you on your search....

Made by Shasta (California). Road name is Highway Cruiser Model M38. Produced for 2 years 55-56. Well built & collectors item today worth big $$$. May run across at some of the vintage camper shows. Pictures parts & info still can be found. You have a rare find.

Wow C D that is some amazing info!! Thank you so much! Do you have any recommendations for parts if needed?

And thank you Daniel I appreciate it!

There's a Shasta group on here along with a link to "Shasta in RV forums" link on the upper part of the page. This is a popular camper so you may find some things that are similar if not downright matching for your camper. While you may not find identical info, I bet you'll find things that match parts of your camper (stove, fridge, heater, etc) that were widely available at the time of your camper.

Wow this is so exciting. I let my father in law know what you two have helped me with so far. He is so happy to hear all of this as it belonged to his mom and dad! Thanks so much for this.
