ive torn out my campers old carpet today  want to put down vinly plank flooring and found  4 carriage bolts heads sticking up about 1/8"  above the plywood in  different places .  Has anyone else had to deal with this when putting down new flooring  besides carpet . I have a grinder and  can take them down pretty good but i dont want to  weaken them too much either .   any advice is welcome

I had to deal with them in my kitchen. I ground them down as much as i dared then installed the floor. I also used the vinyl plank flooring. I used heavy glue in that area. I have 3 small 'dimples' that you can kinda of see, but the floor has no issues there
hey thanks for replying, i ended up grinding them down today and maybe if i use some foam underlayment under the vinyl it will turn out ok.
If you have a slight depression after grinding, body filler (Bondo) will work to fill it.

Just a suggestion, but if laying laminate or wood flooring you could 'carefully' notch into the back of the wood where the screw head is? possibly?

Or

just put down a plywood subfloor!
