Enclosed is a photo of the exposed roof seam (77 Dodge Champion), there was a mix of what looks like dicor (so-so durability) random elastomeric (most recent, really poor durability = useless) and the old black factory lap sealant which looks like it's still functional to this day. I'm wondering how best to proceed with the EDPM "Liquid roof" coating (after caulking the seams with ???). I could go whole-hog and spend hours sloshing around paint thinner and use dozens of rags to clean off all traces of old sealer, or use the PROFLEX primer, which was designed to go over sub-optimal surfaces and eliminate the need to remove all old sealant... or both? Both steps probably best but if it's overkill I'll happily skip the hours in the sun scrubbing off old sealant if possible. Thanks...
