I have a 1973 Cabana and am trying to get documented value from somewhere! I found appraisers but they want $300. Any ideas on getting a legit value? I paid $2700.00 and was lied to about some of the issues the RV had/ has. I have a ton of info and am going to take pics this wknd of all the problem areas. Any ideas??

Welcome to our group, Rocky! You're Cabana looks like a nice vintage class A and I hope you have a lot of fun restoring it.

For vintage rvs the price really is what someone is willing to pay for it. And, of course, condition of the rv and how much is original working condition is very important. Rahter than go to an "appraiser" I'd do the following:
- Do a "search all states" on craigslists for Cabana rvs for sale and see what popup up, condition and pricing as well as Ebay. Check a few times a week and this will give you a ball park figure that's usually pretty accurate.
- Go to the Vintage RV sites on the left of our home page and click thru to some of the vintage rv sales and restoration sites and see what is listed that is similar to yours. Tin Can Tourists is the largest vintage rv group and could be helpful.

If you're new to vintage rvs you might learn a lot by going to our Forum and looking at the various posts under repair, restoration, etc. There's a lot of learning there! And, if you are new to vintage rvs you'll find that repairing and restoring existing systems is a big part of bringing you classic back to near original condition. We even enjoy it! It's a process and we usually prioritize them, i.e. working brakes, new tires, replacing aged engine hoses, belts and changing all fluids. But I bet you alreay know this!!

Anyway, welcome and we look forward to your posts, questions and more pictures as you restore your Cabana.

I spent 3 months with my beloved RV, I call her COCO and my dog Yo Adrianne, from coast to coast. I have a blog with many videos and pics. I am just leaving work but I appreciate the suggestions and will try the craigslist. I have been searching for Cabana's and there doesn't seem to many around or I guess for sale. Mine has some issues but so do I, so I guess we belong together!!

Thanks!
