Dometic RM60 fridge not working LP or Electric

Hey all,

 

Equipment History is important so sorry for this.....

 

I bought a 1970 23" Sante Fe camper this year. Was sitting in a guys yard for 8 years after the last time he used it. Everything "worked" at that time. Two owners.

Since I am repairing one thing at a time...

 

Currently working on the Dometic RM60 fridge.

On the LP side, I cannot control the amount of propane given to the burner. Seems like always on high, difficult to light and when lighting gives a little pop even after holding the gas in for a few seconds (not the 15 recommended).

If you run it for 10 minutes or so, the box where the burner is under gets extremely hot while none of the piping (condenser coils, absorber coils, and tank) change temp at all. Since I don't want to set fire to my new / old camper, what would be causing the system to not start circulating?
