ZIP LOCK BAG - Good tip!
We went with friends to Sweety Pies on Sunday for breakfast and sat in the patio section beside the house. We happened to notice zip lock baggies pinned to a post and a wall. The bags were half filled with water, each contained 4 pennies, and they were zipped shut. Naturally we were curious! Ms. Sweety told us that these baggies kept the flies away! So naturally we were even more curious! We actually watched some flies come in the open window, stand around on the window sill, and then fly out again. And there were no flies in the eating area! Works, but we don't know why. Old Amish trick...
We tried that a few years ago, and the SPCA petitioned to stop the practice. Something about the suns reflection off their pasty white skin blinding the gators...and the gators refusing to wear shades... gee I shoulda figgered this bag, penny, water thing out long time ago.
Gee, so it really works?
We were in Mexico not long ago and saw the same contraptions there except they had Mexican coin in them. So I guess they worked but they weren't as valuable as the US models what with the exchange rate and all.
American coins probably would not work in Mexico since the flies are use to pesos :)
This video explains why this works.
One of us Dailey's should have patented it!
