85??...30 years?..I'd do the hoses to the tank..at least where the tank is. If they are rubber, they are cracked. Id check lines all the way to the engine, vapor canister etc....

<p>Make sure when you do this job there is NO source of ignition any where near the work area.gas fumes will ignite even in open areas when the humidity is high. they will hug the ground and can even flow up your pant legs and shirt sleeves. be very careful. Don't mean to scare you. You can do this job! just be aware of the hazards.</p>

<p>Let me try this again as the first post is not working. Completely drain the tank of fuel. have 2 people to do the actual dropping of the tank and have a floor jack to help hold the weight. Take the tank to a shop where they can clean it out and re-coat the inside. Change out the fuel gauge sending unit and all filters. Re-install the tank and fill with fresh fuel. You should be good to go. It sounds easier than it really is. Make sure to spray all the bolts with a good penetrating…</p>
