Went over to the coast for a rock cod fishing trip and when I filled up the tank on the way back I noticed gas dripping down. Lost about a quart in ten gallons of gas. Of course I stopped filling when I realized the leak wa bad. Leak stopped when I cut off the fill, so it must be in the throat leading down to the tank. I looked under and of course the area is all coated with undercoat. Anybody else ever have the same problem?

I've not had a leak but I wonder, if since it stopped when you stopped filling if your not leaking at the throat where the rubber tube connects to the tanks filler tube; you may just have a band clamp failing.

ive seen many a rotted hose on older MH. if the fill hose gone...it would be advised to just drop the tank and do all rubber...
Well there are a couple of clamps to inspect, but I bet the rubber has deteriorated since it is a 1988 alumalite Holiday Rambler. Thanks for the replies guys.
Update-there was a small hole in the filler hose, perfectly round, less than 1/4 inch. The filler house was covered with that foam insulation. The repair shop got a good look at it up on the rack. I let them do the job. They pulled all the foam stuff off, replaced the hose and new clamps. Good to go. I am out 150 labor and 41 new nose and clamps. Filled her up, no leaks. Can't believe that much gas leaked from a little hole.Feels good not to be a environmental hazard any more.

Good on you Kevin, gas is like blood; a cup on the floor looks like a gallon. It's always nice to have a simple problem that needs a simple repair. Makes life easier and moor fun.
