I've been working on my camper for over a year now. I've always keep in mind that I wanted to change as little as possible. Try to keep the vintage look or that road worn look. So there are dings and some small dents Plus I left as much of the original wood as I could when replacing the roof and side. At some point something pushed the roof in a little and I even left that. Do most people just go full resto or do some try and leave it as??

I would say the first rule is to do a inspection of the complete unit then determine what needs fixing.Things such as rot will just deteriorate and get worse. Sealing all leaks was a major issue for me. Our camper is a 1979 model so mold was an issue for us too so the carpet is coming out and we will put in a new sub floor after the rot is removed and tile the floor to aid in keeping it clean. We have many dings and dents on ours but I will leave them.
