I pulled a fan out of an old computer tower to blow on the louvers of my fridge. All those fans are 12v so running a small wire out the fridge door and tapping an existing 12v chassis wire in the wall was simple.
The fan keeps the ice build-up WAY down and really keeps the temps even throughout the entire fridge box. MUCH more efficient - temp control is set way low or it starts freezing everything.
With Gas/Electric Dometic fridges, they are the worst at working when u need them most, I took mine out and installed 2 110 V. fridges with LOW wattage so solar panels keeps them running. Installed a small fan in back wall to vent the heat out the vent on side of RV,, has worked for 12 yrs with no problems.
what runs them at night?
Oh yea, fergot to mention that,, Battery bank with inverter. Have 4 Gell cells. (12 volt) Voltage drops to 12.9 from 13.8 and went 4 days without sunshine and batteries were still at 92%.
