I hooked up to a port on the opposite head that the stock gauge is connected to so I can have both gauges working. Unfortunately the stock gauge is correct. I was hoping it wasn't really running hot, but it is. 220 degrees is the center of the gauge. It enters the red at 240 degrees. On the way home from Hershey a few weeks ago the stock gauge was pegged. I don't even want to know how hot it got.

I got a flush kit and some Prestone coolant system cleaner to try. That's the next project....

I'll have to see where I got the clutch. I *think* it's a Delco part but I can't remember now.

Well I'm going to start pulling the radiator today. I decided not to waste my time with the additives. They're not likely to work and will just prolong the inevitable.

After studying it, this is going to be a multi-day project. The radiator is held in by the top half of the radiator support. You take 4 bolts out and the rad support comes apart so you can remove the radiator. BUT, there's a big steel beam obstructing access to those bolts on the left side. Looks like I have to remove the rad support along with the radiator, which is bolted to the frame rails. I can get at the nuts, not sure about the bolts up top. There is TONS of stuff bolted to the rad support that has to come off. And even then, I'm not sure where the radiator can come out. It looks like it might come out the front, or from underneath.

Wish me luck - I'm goin' in....

Sounds like quite a project to get the radiator R&R, I do wish you luck and lots of patience.
