I am putting the MMP back together. I got a start today with getting some of the wooden framework in place. The most expensive piece, not counting all the screws I have on order, was buying a 2x8x8 and having it ripped to down to 6 1/16 to go under the big side window and sits on the metal cross member. This was overkill, but I wanted that window to be well supported and having that piece of wood all the way across will prevent it from shaking the wall and tearing up all the insulation, screws, etc. that will be there.

It was fun fitting things together and getting some of the pieces actually screwed into place. I figured wrong on the types of screws that I would be needing so I need to make an unscheduled purchase of #12x2 sheet metal screws tomorrow. Not real bad, but about $7 I was not planning on spending so my budget took a minor hit. I suspect that there will be lots of this happening, just need to remember to give myself a bigger OOPS cushion next month. If I make miscalculations when I do the wall finish or the floor that will get to be expensive real quick.I like to buy closeout, last of its kind stuff as it is much cheaper, but can end up being a major expense when not enough is bought. BTDT, learned the hard way LOL.

So enjoy the 5 pictures of today's effort. More is coming--fair warning, I will be doing a plethora of pictures on this rebuild so that others who are facing the same problem will have an extensive view of what is needed to fix the delamination. I will also try to keep track of all the receipts and will do a blow-by-blow list of all the material costs that are mandatory, where I did overkill, and of course where I thought I was Rockefeller and went completely overboard.

Take care all and above all be safe in your travels in your GORV.

Truly appreciate pictures! They definitely help the rest of us, especially newbs at this like me. LOL
I've done the same with the wrong screws, but I figure I will use them for another project someday, so in the garage drawer they go to wait.. Thanks for the update, it's great to see you keep going on this, and I'm heading in to take a peek at pics now.
I've been keeping all of my receipts in a covered bowl on top of my refrigerator. I really want to know what this comes to when I'm done with the majors. A little here, a couple dollars there...it's adding up.

Thank you, Tina. I have a hard time remembering to take pictures. I get all wrapped up in what I am doing and forget the other things I want to do. LOL

I need to do something like the bowl with my receipts, I have misplaced a couple already. Not helpful when I am ready to do a summary of the expense for fixing delamination.

Good morning, Russ;

The last sentence in your main paragraph did get my attention.  Without going into the details (but I should say "thank you" for briefly reviving some very nice memories), I came to be well acquainted with a Rockefeller.  While the Rockefeller Foundation and the Rockefeller "family" do have money, any one individual Rockefeller might surprise you.

One day when I went over to see Posie, she was sewing the lining back into her coat so that it would be ready for the coming winter.  She said that she could not afford to buy a new coat.

She was driving her sister's Chevrolet, because it was less expensive for the insurance on the car when the older sister loaned the car to Posie who was located at school in Ohio, rather than having it in New York City.  And there was a lot of money the Chevrolet owner saved by not needing a garage parking space for the car in New York City.  And, yes, it was a Chevrolet, and not a Rolls or Bentley or Lamborghini or Ferrari or McLauren.

The members of the Rockefeller family do know the value of money, yes, and they also know that it does take work and effort to earn money, and that money may not be an inexhaustible resource.

Enjoy ;  Ralph, Latté Land, Washington
