propane system
my 76 dodge explorer has the old long tank on the drivers side, Looks like it hasn't been used in years. How do I go about testing it out without blowing up? I have no idea when the last time it was filled or emptied.

Bill,these tanks do not require testing.And if you do develop a leak it will just vent to the atmosphere.

Propane is a combustable and possibly explosive gas. U can test all your lines and connections with a 50/50 mix of dish soap and water. Use some kind of small drip or spray bottle. Any leak should show as bubbles and should be repaired immediately.
