So I have another one for everyone. My air unit blows plenty hard enough however it is not blowing cold. I am getting ready to move to Ausin TX where I will be living in my RV and anyone who has ever visited the area knows full well that I will most likely die a slow and miserable death without an ice cold ac unit. I have heard from several techs that they are not servicable but kits are available that would allow me to tap into the unit and re-charge. I cannot find these so-called "service kits" anywhere online. Can anyone give me any advice? The one quote I have received for installing a new one was 2k and I am just not willking to spend that kind of money. I am a mechanic and do all my own work (what I can) and dont really have a forklift lying around to install a new one. I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks a bunch.

Joseph,The service ports you are looking for are called saddle valves. These service valves are split in two and poke a hole in the line when clamped together. You just need to know what size your low pressure side line is.
Sorry, I'm a little confused? The valves on my ac unit are called saddle valves? Or the repair kits supply something called a saddle valve? I understand that I need to somehow create a hole in the line, but wow, I sure would love it if there was some kind of step by step instruction out there somewhere!
actually, just found a really cool video on youtube, for anyone who is interested here is the link
