I have a 1971 Cobra Metropolitan truck camper, and it has all the original everything, including the water tank and water heater etc. At the water inlet the pipes are clearly rusted I imagine the tank itself which is metal is rusted though it holds water, no leaks, don't know what is inside the water heater, it is probably rusted too, so when we did run water through it all the water came out brown. I am wondering if we can get it cleared out by just running enough water through it all or if we should replace, the inlet, all the pipes, the Water tank and Hot water heater, [may go to on demand in that case] .

What do you all think? We would only use bottled water for ingestion purposes anyway so water would be for dish washing and shower and perhaps toilet if I don't change out to a THetford Curve toilet. The camper only has one Black/grey tank, so using the Thetford would give me that as the Black and all the other tank for grey.

So should I try to replace all that water system or stick with the way it is ?

If you saw what is inside your normal water lines, you would probably think about not drinking any water!  Virtually all hot water systems will have some rust, yours probably more, due to age and possibly draining the system over winter, allowing oxidization.  Flush the system and use it, as you said, you won't be drinking it.  Do, check the system for leaks on some type of schedule.
