I traveled with a Maine Coon Cat and my Rottweiler until my cat died of old age a couple of years ago. Now I just have my dog and she's getting up there in age too. But I won't go anywhere without my pets. The RV industry has finally figured out that people are serious about their pets and recently one manufacturer created built in kennels.

The latest is a 2011 model trailer from Riverside Travel Trailers of Peru, Ind., that features a built-in fiberglass dog kennel. The company will debut the unique RV at the upcoming National RV Trade Show, Nov. 30
in Louisville, Kentucky.

The 29-foot, model 29RLSPB trailer fully incorporates a dog kennel accessible from both outside and inside the RV. A drain allows for easy cleaning. The trailer’s floors are covered with Linoleum for easy
cleaning of whatever a dog tracks in.

The idea for the kennel was inspired by company president Ken Licklider, who besides being in the RV business owns the largest company in the world that provides trained dogs for military and police. “We
produced two trailers to hold military dogs and the fibergass kennels
came out great,” said Riverside Executive Vice President Mark Gerber.
“We thought, wow, this would be great for RVers!”

The kennel is spacious enough to house one St. Bernard or a handful of Chihuahuas. The dogs can ride in the kennel in relative safety as the RV rolls down the road.

The first of the trailers is already built and will be sold in December. The company will base future production on sales to dealers at the National RV Trade Show. Among the trailer’s other features is a
rear slide patio. The MSPR is $24,900.

That's cute, but this is even cuter!!
