Nice easy jaunt today from Ogden IA to Hannibal O.  Some wind, but nothing to complain about.  Got here after dark and set up just before the rain gods decided to drench the campground with buckets of  water.

Did have one problem, one of the basement doors came flying apart going down the road.  So I had to stop and empty out the compartment and put everything into the U-Haul trailer we are pulling loaded with my dad's items that I got at his passing.

Anyone build a replacement door for a basement compartment?  It was plastic over fiberboard with a sheet of tin on the interior.  I am thinking of using 3/8 inch marine plywood to build a new panel to go into the door frame.  I would just order a new door, but I think Fleetwood may have discontinued them since it is 28 years old.  LOL

your on the right track...

I hope you were able to recover most of the door and parts. Should be easy to replicate.

I have the door frame, but all the rest of it is gone, scattered down I80, too many vehicles on that part of the interstate to chance stopping and gathering up pieces

the materials you mentioned and a couple camlocks and your good to go...

Sounds like a job for a handy man Russell, I think you fit that description, any way it sounds like your on the right track. Lowe's sells thin sheets of aluminum you can sheet the outside of the panel with and also aluminum angle to frame it with. good luck with your new project.
