well it has an overide switch, a door switch, and a control board and a regular widow regulator motor and a fuse. the overide switch controls what happens when the door is opened or closed, in one setting if the door is opened the steps will go out, if it is closed it goes back in, when the overide switch is in the other position it keeps the steps out for continued use. they recomend lubricating the steps once a month with something like litium grease spray, do not use wd40 it dries out too fast.
