If you ever tried to tow with your RV you should know MOST MOTORHOMES ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR VERY MUCH TONGUE WEIGHT.

For the average RV, anything bigger than about a 12' utility trailer is TOO BIG.

One way to overcome this problem is a new thing called a "Trailer Toad".  It basically looks like a car dolly for trailers.  It adds WHEELS to your trailer tongue so your tongue weight isn't on your rig (which is usually only designed for 300-400 lbs max!)

It's a great idea but the company charges an OUTRAGEOUS amount for it - $3200US!!

I shopped around and found one for $900 on Craigslist - it was from a trailer dealership that had special ordered it for a customer but they never picked it up.  Basically brand new.

I THOUGHT I was getting a deal but it turns out I bought an older model that had many flaws - one of which being the the fenders fall off!!!  I learned this the hard way after the first 150 miles.....

When I contacted the company to see if I could get a new fender but they told me they had bought the company from the original owners and had no parts for the older models.

The tell me "If it is a 2000 lb model, I recommend not to exceed 1000 lbs tongue weight. I can tell you this because we sold hundreds of the early models for Robin Industries, who was having them built in Salt Lake City by Carter Mfg. My customers lost fenders, tires, wheels and in general the early models were just not very durable. They worked, but just needed to made of heavier materials. The company that had them made (Robin Industries-Aftermarket) was closed about 3 years ago"

I put this here for a heads-up to all you rovers out there.... do your homework and don't get taken like we did....
