I have disassembled my 1967 Ritz-Craft 150 to the frame. The flooring was rotted and the moisture barrier was lose and sagging. I need to replace the material was used for the first layer to the ground under the flooring. It looked like a tar paper that had vinyl on the ground side, the the floor joists were on top of that. Does anyone have any suggestions what to use as the lower most moisture barrier? Does anyone remember what they used and how well it performed?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated... thanks!
into the search box and you will see multiple discussions on this pretty intersting topic; ranging from Celetex, tarpaper, penetrating expoxy to fiberglassing the flooring. Here's the LINK
I'd pay particular attention to VK's comments; they are wayyyyy knowledgeable about this type of thing, restoring 5 vintage trailers a year from frame up (our kinda a folks)
Post some photos of what you do if and when you can.
