I have just fitted a VR3 rear licence plate mounted reverse camera to the motorhome along with a pair of brand new rear lamps.
The lamps I bought are slightly different, one has a single wire for the back up lamp, the other has two ( according to wiring you join them up, which makes sense). Both lamps use an earthing strip between the two lamp bodies. I have wired the camera up, red to positive from back up bulb holder ( the one with two wires) and the earth to the rear lamp earth.
With ignition on and vehicle in reverse the camera works great, till you put your foot on the brake pedal, then the screen goes off. it will most of the time come back on when you take your foot off the brakes.
Just wondered if anyone had experienced a similar problem. I am wondering if I need to earth the camera to an independent earth and not go through the rear light earth.
Any suggestions would be great as kind of important I can see the backup camera when I'm reversing with my foot on the brake pedal!!!!!
