I know it well! We ARE enjoying cooler temps, even if it's a temporary reprieve. High 80's today! We also have a swamp cooler, one of the plastic Autralian one's that fit almost flat against the wall that also keeps it 20 - 30 deg cooler inside. There's an Arizona company (as I recall) that makes one that fits in a standard 14 X 14 top vent hole. No idea how much water thay use, but they aren't very big.

We're 12 miles from Ridgecrest, China Lake Base. Mojave Desert. :) The ocean breeze sounds wonderful!

We really enjoy our swampcooler this time of year. Keeps our home between 25-30 degrees cooler than outside. Thought of putting one on the Fort, lol, but would use up all the water.

Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather!

< 100? Oh boy! You must be where; upper Antelope Valley? Victorville? We're 15 miles from the coast in San Luis Obispo county @ about 1,000' el. It seems like our house is situated (between Atascadero and Santa Margarita) where it's always the hottest in Summer and coldest in Winter on the weather charts, but at least the ocean keeps things somewhat moderated.

Good to know about the faucet. Yep, in California high desert. Still hotter than the hubs here. Not sure when it started, they were both like that at purchase. Will be working hopefully on next week, we are suppose to drop under 100'. :)

You must be here in California!

Faucets rarely are so far gone that they need to be entirely replaced. They can usually be repaired with just a seal and washer kit and be good as new. Getting to them, on the other hand can be a major pain in the hip, elbow, fingers and etc., because of how tight most RV's are under the sink. Ugh. But you won't need to get down and grovel on the floor to replace the rubber bits and pieces, since they all come out the top. You may find that something…

Thats right. Water just drips out. Figured we would get the leaky hose fixed first, then decide if it's the faucet that needs replacing or if we have another issue.

Been delayed on the repair just a bit this week. We've had 105', 106', 105' 107' for the last 4 days. Really takes it out of me! Today the wind felt like a blast furnace. Not fun to be in the Fort when it's that warm.

Ditto on the Shark Bite fittings, but didn't you say that no water comes out of the faucet as well? I guess that's why you were wondering if the current fitting is a check valve installed backward??

So why go new when you can go this rout and have the same things that aren't cheepend up.
