Hi everyone, du to medical bills I might be forced to sell my 1983 Prowler lite. It is in very good condition, has a nice fridge, stove, gas oven, shower and toilet, radio and CD player build in, spare tire, sway bar and original, unused star wheel. Interior is original and in clean and very good shape. I was hoping to refurbish it with a nice paint job and new updated upholstery but might not be able to afford it.

Could you please let me know what this camper would be worth including the vintage star wheel ?

I attached a stock photo that is similar to my camper and will be able to take pictures of my camper soon to give a better idea.

Thank you!!

I have 3 pictures here of my camper. Would not allow me to upload more.

Could you please tell me what I can sell it for? It is in good shape and only needs cosmetic touch ups at this point.

NADA said that this exact model, 18 feet long resells between 2700 and 3150. My one is 13-14 foot long.

Thank you!!

Hi Sandra,

I am by no means an expert in this area, but here goes. Since you have a price for a comparable trailer I would place the price at $3000 and the first person to offer $2500 or more would buy it. At a certain age size becomes less of an issue for price. RVs hit a rock bottom concerning price if they are taken care of and water leaks do not ravage them.

There are those like us who take an old RV and refurbish it like you want to do to yours. We paid $2800 for our 1987 Southwind motorhome. Thus far we have invested $13,000 in it. Over the next few years we will invest at least that much again putting in a solid bamboo floor, getting her painted, and removing the dining table and jack-knife couch to put in recliners, an electric fire place (idea stolen from Lakota Wolf LOL) and a table that folds against the wall when not in use for games or puzzle building.

Will we ever recover our money if we ever sell it? If we find the right person who understands the love and care that has gone into refurbishing her we might come close. But in all actuality probably not. She has been a labor of love for our enjoyment and hopefully it will see more use with our children, grandchildren and who knows, maybe our great-grandchildren.

I send you my condolences, health issues are not easy and with today's sky-rocketing prices in the medical field they suck a person dry in no time. I wish you the all the best and hope that if you need to sell your Prowler, that you will find another trailer when this is all over and will be able to refurbish it and keep on camping. Keep us posted, you are a member of the GORV family and we care about you.

Thank you so much for your kind and caring message. It is very helpful!! What does your camper look like? Can you upload a pick? You invested a lot of money and I am curious about all the work you have done.

Blessings!!

This is my favorite picture of Betsy. We had four breakdowns on our first outing with her. She is much better now to take out, LOL. Thus far some of the things we have done is a new front AC unit, furnace, water heater, and generator. We have pulled out all the carpeting and will put down solid bamboo flooring (in a light shade to brighten up the dark interior). Most everything else has been dealing with the chassis. Wiring; remove, clean and recoat the fuel tank; starter (2 f them because the first person to replace the original starter did not bother putting the heat shield back in place so the header cooked the new starter. Just gotta love the fact that Chevy put the starter right next to the exhaust system. I also replaced the rear brake/turn/tail light units with new LED system. Also I replaced all the old 1156 bulbs inside the coach with LED bulbs. And of course all new tires.  The next major thing will be painting and a new AC unit to replace the rear unit. As a fun side note, I am looking for a 1987 pickup or Bronco/Blazer vehicle that we will have painted to match Betsy. I think it would be kind of fun to have our 87 motorhome pulling an 87 vehicle. Anyway that is a brief list of what we have done so far.

Very nice and I can see you did put a lot of money into her. Thank you for posting!!

Thank you and no worries, will do !!

Thank you!
